Editorial Comment: The androgen signaling axis is a primary target for therapeutics used in cases of advanced prostate cancer. Although most of these drugs function by directly interfering with androgen receptor function, it has become clear that approaches that target the expression and/or activity of androgen receptor coregulators may also yield useful Pharmaceuticals. There is a considerable amount of interest in identifying those coregulators that are essential for androgen action in prostate cancer and in follow-on studies, which evaluate the likely impact of interfering with these factors on processes of pathological importance in cancer.
