Editorial Comment: Whatever happened to the malleable penile prosthesis? This report focuses on a group of 22 men receiving the new Spectra? concealable penile prosthesis. Patient and partner satisfaction rates of 86% and 52%, respectively, are reported with this malleable prosthesis. This finding compares unfavorably to patient and partner satisfaction rates of roughly 90% in similar prior series evaluating inflatable implants. Still, malleable devices are far better than nothing. They are reliable, cost effective and worth consideration in selected patients.
