To the Editor: We were intrigued to see this article published in The Journal of Urology?. Given the current controversy surrounding transvaginal mesh, accurate scientific information on the properties of PP is important. Unfortunately a significant conflict of interest was not noted in the article. It is public record that Ostergard has been involved as an expert witness for plaintiffs in multiple cases and receives financial compensation for that activity. The article also includes several unreferenced and unproved statements, in addition to misinterpretation of prior literature.
