Wise surgeons often refrain from operating for pain, as surgery itself causes discomfort. When confronted with varicocele, it is useful to have information that guides when best to operate. These investigators conducted a thoughtful assessment of predictors of symptomatic relief with varicocelectomy and derived several useful ones, namely number of veins, pain score and duration of discomfort.
