Mill throughput at Boliden's namesake mine in Sweden was at a record level of 490,000t in the final quarter of last year. It is therefore clear that the cutback that was required while a new tailings pond was built at Hotjarn is no longer in place. Delays in the granting of environmental permits for new pond meant that the existing one did not have the capacity to handle the mine operating fully. The stellar performance resulted in zinc-in-concentrate production of 14,276t, its highest since 2007.
