Products of the isothermal compressibility, κ_T, and the surface tension, σ, that have been discussed in the literature for liquids in general are shown for over 60 molten salts. The applications of the scaled particle theory of Mayer and the simplified corresponding states correlation of Harada [Ind. Eng. Chem. Fund. 22, 116 (1983)] lead to calculated values twice as large as the experimental ones. Separate correlations in this paper of κ_T and of σ with the cohesive energy density lead to κ_Tσ products that are commensurate with the experimental values for many of the molten salts, beyond the few 1:1 molten salts that have been dealt with previously.
