The estimation of interaction between bodies separatedby a slit is a classical problem of surface science, whosesolution lays a foundation for the theory of stability of col-loidal systems.~1 Among various types of forces and numer-ous calculations made, most attention was primary paid toattractive dispersion forces, which remain better studied inmodern science.
