摘要

The gene effects through five generations namely P1, P2, F1, F2, and F3 of two intervarietal crosses viz. PLR1 x Green Round and GBL1 x GCL 99-1 was studied in brinjal. Both additive and non-additive gene effects were important for most of the characters in both the crosses. The complimentary type of interaction was detected for number of primary branches per plant in cross 1 and single fruit weight in cross II, while duplicate type of epistasis was important for almost all the remaining characters in both the crosses. Simple pedigree selection as well as intermating among the elite segregants in the early generations followed by delayed selection might be useful in improving the yield levels in brinjal.
