KBR new recruit in near-shore FLNG concept

KBR has been awarded a front-end engineering and design (FEED) contract for a near-shore floating LNG concept being developed by Lloyds Energy. KBR will design the integrated topsides for a nominal 2.5m t/y floating liquefaction plant. Lloyd's Energy hopes its near-shore FLNG technology will provide a cheaper alternative to onshore LNG developments that have become mired in expensive land-planning and approval processes.
