The run of improving margins has continued into July, with notional EBITDA margins climbing in every region covered by the Steel Cost Review. While neither China nor Europe threaten to take North America's crown as top performer, China yet again takes the prize for most improved, as margins here jumped by 5% m/m to reach 6.8% in July, overtaking Europe for the first time since September 2013.
