Chiral discrimination of enantiomers with a self-assembled monolayer of functionalized #beta#-cyclodextrins on Au surfaces

A facile synthetic route to mercaptyl functionalized #beta#-cyclodextrins was devised and self-assembled onto the gold electrodes of a quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) to afford a durable sensor capable of chiral discrimination of enantiomers.
