Shares in Covestro, the former MaterialScience division oi' Bayer, went on sale last week, rising by 10% soon after listing on the Frankfurt Stock exchange. Shares were priced at ?24 (￡17.74) in an initial public offering (IPO) of the division's stock, ?2.5 (￡1.85) below the bottom-end of the offer price range previously indicated by Bayer. However the shares rose to ?26.50 (￡19.58) on the opening day of trading on 6 October.
