The UK's plastics industry found a few nourishing crumbs in the Chancellor of the Exchequer's autumn statement, but help for energy intensive businesses failed to materialise, an oversight described as "a missed opportunity" by CBI director-general John Cridland. "The cost of energy is affecting the competitiveness of our energy intensive firms which support jobs and growth, so it's disappointing this wasn't addressed," Cridland added.
