Reel bonus for producing beverage sixpacks

US-based Hi-Cone, which produces the plastic ring cluster system for beverage multipacks, has announced a change to the reels onto which the multipack holders are wound for transport and dispensing to the machines on the packaging production line. The new "jumbo" reels will hold an additional 5,200 pieces per reel, double their previous capacity. This is expected to result in fewer delivery runs as each truck can now hold 42% more material for the same number of pallets.The multipack holders can now be applied over longer periods of highspeed running. According to Hi-Cone this willconsiderably reduce the number of manual interventions and therefore handling injuries.
