A Coal & Energy source, still waiting for signs of a turnaround in the market for his metallurgical coal products, is not encouraged by what he sees of late. Whether it's pricing or demand, the outlook doesn't appear favorable for the U.S. supplier in the near term. At least from a mid-vol coal standpoint, spot sales opportunities in the export market remain very limited. Inquiries continue to roll in, but little is being accomplished in the way of new deals.
