Spot metallurgical coal prices in Asia ended theweek steady as trading activity was limited with neitherbuyers nor sellers willing to compromise.The market was divided between two groups: one thatexpected rising prices toward the end of the year on seasonalrestocking, increasing domestic coal prices, and helpfulgovernment policies toward the steel and coal sectors. Therest saw room for further falls due to languishing steel prices,and the unlikelihood of large-scale production cuts.
