India’s Ennore port invites bids to build new coal handling facility

New Delhi—India’s government-owned Ennore Port Limited (EPL) has floated a tender to build a new captive coal berth for state-run power utility Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation Ltd (TANGEDCO) at the port on the country’s East Coast. The port’s board had recently approved the proposal to build a new coal berth with a 4 million-6 million mt/year capacity, which would cost around Rupee 2.04 billion ($33.17 million), a source said.
