GPCA: Equate sees 2016 China PE demand growth at 4% despite economic slowdown

Singapore - Equate Petrochemical Co. expects China to continue to drive polyethylene demand in the future, with overall PE expected to grow 4% in 2016. Linear low density polypropylene demand is expected to grow the fastest at 4.5%, high density polypropylene at about 4% and low density polypropylene the slowest, at 2%, Eliezer Maldonado, senior vice president of Equate, said at a press conference. “China will remain important for everybody. China GDP is growing at 5-7%.
