The Northwest European styrene prices edged lower Friday, erasing some of the gains made the previous day following the Moerdijk cracker outage. Spot styrene was assessed at $925/mt FOB ARA, down $6.50/mt on the day, but still up $73.50/mt on the week. The jump was triggered primarily by fears of curtailed imports into the region and worries the outage in the Netherlands and the force majeure on ethylene would have an impact on domestic supplies.
