European acrylonitrile prices were down $50/mt on the week at $900/ mt CIF Med, taking direction from lower US Gulf Coast ACN spot prices. The pressure from imports outweighed surging feedstock costs, with prompt propylene parcels pegged on par with the contract price of Eur670/mt FD NWE, equivalent to $713/mt. “The pressure from imported product is making life difficult for us; the spot market is dominated by producers in the US,” a European seller said Tuesday, pegging the tradeable spot level at $900/mt CIF Med.
