Asian acrylonitrile prices fell $25/mt week on week to $1,410/ mt CFR Far East Asia on weaker demand for spot cargoes. There were limited spot offers from Asian producers, with most sellers concluding deals on contract basis. One Far East Asia-based seller expected to conclude a deal in the spot market at $1,400-$1,420/mt, while most buying indications were heard around $1,350/mt. One buyer said he could consider buying at $1,370/mt CFR FEA. A trader in China said he preferred to buy domestic cargoes as prices had fallen from Yuan 10,500/mt last week to Yuan 10,300/mt Tuesday, which is equivalent to $1,399/mt on an import parity basis, or $1,369/mt after subtracting $30/mt tank storage fee. Buyers in China said that deepsea cargoes, which are expected to arrive in end-June or July, were priced more competitively.
