Asian acrylonitrile prices rockets 50/mt to set new record high

Singapore-Asian acrylonitrile spot prices surged 50/mt in the week ending May 1,to establish a fresh all-time high amid increasing raw material costs and tight regional supply and the price uptrend was expected to persist.Trades into China were heard concluded at 2,040/mt and 2,060/mt CFR China(L/C at sight)for ACN parcels of 2,000 mt lot size,May delivery,going to acrylamide end-user factories.That represented a jump of 40-60/mt from the Platts ACN assessment on April 24 on a CFR Far East Asia basis.Although those trades could be verified by counterparties,existing bids and offers were placed at 2,020/mt and 2,060/mt CFR China(L/C at sight)levels.
