GPPS: Asian general purpose polystyrene was assessed down $20/mt week on week at $1,860/mt CFR China and down $40/mt also at $1,860/mt CFR Southeast Asia. The main reason for the fall in prices was due to feedstock styrene monomer plunging in the last two weeks. Week on week, SM fell $59.50/mt to $1,641.50/mt CFR China on Wednesday, pushing end-users and traders to the sidelines, sources said. One producer source said that the offer of $1,860/mt CFR China was acceptable to several buyers at the moment.
