EDC: The US ethylene dichloride assessment was down $5/mt week on week Thursday at $285-295/mt FOB USG in thinly traded markets following talks of reduced EDC demand in Asia. “Asian EDC markets are going through some major corrections partially caused by lackluster PVC demand. There are not that many places for US product to go to, not that there is any spot product available,” one trader source said. EDC bids were reported in the range of $270-280/mt FOB USG for March loading cargoes, against no offers. No trades were reported by time of publication.
