Converters were bracing for a jump in March pricing on the back of increased feedstock cost. The March contract price for propylene was fully settled Wednesday, at Eur1,155/ mt FD NWE, up Eur55/mt from February. Firmer naphtha was the main driver for the second monthly rise in a row as the tight supply brought about by production issues further added to upward pressure. Although naphtha eased after hitting a 10-month high of $1,019.50/mt CIF NWE on February 18, the average so far for February rose to $995/mt (Eur743/mt) from January's $933/mt (Eur701/ mt); it closed at $977/mt Wednesday, down from $983/ mt Tuesday.
