European spot acrylonitrile prices rose $15/ Tuesday, to $1,835/mt CIF Med, on the back of strength in the energy complex and the Asian market. Several acrylic fiber producers reported good order entries despite the summer holidays. Orders were “better than our forecast,” a fiber producer said, adding that buying had been largely speculative, particularly after Brent prices hit $115/b Monday, the highest level since early May.
