Mexico City—Mexico exported 1.312 million b/d of crude in October, up 2.5% from the same month a year ago, state oil company Pemex said last week. October crude production meanwhile declined to 2.103 million b/d from 2.279 million b/d a year earlier, a fall of 8.4%. The greater exports at a time of declining production reflects the problems of the six Pemex refineries where major refits and maintenance have been severely impacted by a series of budget cuts, of which the most recent was $5.5 billion.
