Brazil’s Lapa Field expected to start production in August

Rio de Janeiro-Petrobras expects to start pumping crude from the Lapa Field in the country’s subsalt frontier in August, after the recent arrival of the floating production unit that will handle output from the deposit, the state-owned Brazilian company said last week. The Cidade de Caraguatatuba floating production, storage and offloading vessel (FPSO), has already arrived at the field, located in Brazil’s Santos Basin about 270 km off the coast of Sao Paulo state, Petrobras said.
