London- OPEC’s Gulf Arab member coun- tries are unlikely to agree to an emergency OPEC meeting, despite comments from the producer group’s Nigerian president that such a meeting might have to be called if prices continued to decline. A Gulf source Tuesday told Platts that such a special meeting was not likely to hap- pen because world oil markets were begin- ning to stabilize, demand was starting to pick up and that there was no indication that non- OPEC producers-Russia in particular-were willing to work with OPEC to restore balance to the market.
