Japan’s refiners hit by deep inventory losses

Tokyo-Japanese refiners’ margins widened in 2014 both for the full year and the April- December period, after government-led capac- ity cuts at the end of March, but the refiners collectively reported billions of dollars in inventory losses as crude oil prices nearly halved in six months.
