EU panel sticks to first-gen biofuels cap for 2020

The European Parliament’s environment committee voted again Tuesday to limit the share of first generation biofuels that can count toward the EU’s 2020 renewable trans- port energy target to 6%, in line with the full parliament’s original position adopted in September 2013. The EU has a binding target to source 10% of its transport energy from renewable sourc- es by 2020.
