California LCFS yet to affect state’s crude slates

Washington—California’s refineries have yet to significantly switch to cleaner crude slates, despite the implementation of the Low Carbon Fuel Standard, based on the latest average carbon intensity calculations released by the state’s Air Resources Board. CARB, in a report released late Thursday, calculated the 2013 average crude carbon intensity of crudes used in the state as 11.36 g/MJ, the same figure as 2012 and just 0.03 g/MJ below the 2010 baseline.
