Indian gasoil price draws closer to market rates

Mumbai—Losses incurred from selling gasoil at regulated prices in India have dropped to their lowest level ever as the progressive deregulation and small monthly price rises bring the local fuel market closer to free market levels. Under-recovery on gasoil was down from Rupees 1.78 (3 cents)/liter in the previous fortnight to Rupees 0.08/liter for the 15-day period ending August 31, India’s oil ministry said Monday.
