Kuwait on track to produce 4 million b/d by 2020

New York—OPEC member Kuwait is currently producing 3.2 million b/d of crude and is on track to reach its strategic goal of producing a sustainable 4 million b/d of oil by 2020 and maintaining that level for a subsequent 10 years, according to the country’s Oil Minister Mostafa al-Shimali. The 4 million b/d goal has been a welladvertised Kuwaiti target, but the minister’s remarks were the first time a senior Kuwaiti oil official has mentioned the aim of maintaining that level of production for a decade.
