Erbil, Iraq—The Kurdistan region of northern Iraq was hit Sunday by a deadly attack on its security forces in the capital Erbil, but officials moved to reassure international oil companies active in the region. Sunday’s double bombing of the headquarters of the Kurdistan capital’s security headquarters killed at least six members of the Kurdish security forces, or Asayesh, and injured another 62 security and police personnel.
