Dubai—Gulf Keystone Petroleum has restarted production from its giant Shaikan oil field in the Kurdistan region of Iraq, which was halted on September 4, after receiving authorization from the Kurdistan Regional Government, the London-listed independent said Thursday. “Gulf Keystone is pleased to confirm that, further to a communication received from the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Kurdistan Regional Government, commercial production from its Shaikan field in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq has recommenced,” the company said in a statement.
