NYMEX crude price closes lower amid dollar refuge

New York—NYMEX July crude futures settled 10 cents lower at $90.76/b May 29 as traders and investors sought refuge in the US dollar. ICE July Brent settled down 43 cents to 106.68/b. In products, NYMEX June RBOB settled 1.36 cents higher at $2.9065/gal, while heating oil was down 2 cents to $2.8088/gal. NYMEX crude traded higher early, at one point reaching $92.21/b. Citi Futures Perspectives analyst Tim Evans saw eurozone concerns pushing down the euro and helping crude during the early part of the US trading day.
