US weekly retail gasoline demand falls 6.9% on year

Houston—US retail gasoline demand fell by6.9% year on year to 59.436 million barrelsin the week ended February 24, MasterCardAdvisors said February 28.But the 8.491 million b/d sold at retailstations last week rose from 8.281 millionb/d the week before. The demand picturein the latest survey week only declined fromthe prior week in one region, the West Coast,where retail sales slipped by 1.6% to 10.251million barrels.
