Cairo—Egyptian Prime Minister Hisham Qandil August 1 named Osama Kamal, former head of the state-run petrochemicals concern, as oil minister in a new cabinet, state-run television and media reported. Kamal replaces Abdulla Ghorab, who had served as oil minister since shortly after the rebellion that ousted President Hosni Mubarak in early 2011. The new minister is the former chairman of the Egyptian Petrochemicals Holding Company.
