Canada extends takeover decision on CNOOC-Nexen

Vancouver—The Canadian government is taking the maximum time it has available to review planned takeovers of Canadian oil and natural gas producers by state-owned Asian firms, as it adds China’s CNOOC-Nexe deal to a similar decision last week on the proposed Petronas acquisition of Progress Energy Resources.
