Statoil to boost output from Gullfaks South

Copenhagen—Statoil said May 22 it was moving to boost output at its Gullfaks South oil and gas field offshore Norway by employing new subsea gas compression technology. Statoil, which is operator with 70% of the field, said that with its partner Petoro it would spend NOK3 billion ($506 million) on the project scheduled to be completed in the autumn of 2015.
