NYMEX crude futures down on inventory rise

New York-NYMEX March crude futures settled 87 cents lower at $97.61/b February 1 on a rise in inventories, while RBOB futures pared gains after US government data showed a drop in gasoline demand. March RBOB settled up 13 points at $2.8922/gal, dropping more than 5 cents from a session high of $2.9487/gal seen earlier in the day. March heating oil settled at $3.0455/gal, down 54 points. ICE March Brent settled 58 cents higher at $111.56/b.
