Chevron moves on UK rosebank discovery

London-Chevron has moved closer to a multi-billion dollar development of the UK's deepwater Rosebank oil and gas discovery after recent UK tax breaks designed to targeting the remote find. In a statement July 9, Chevron said it has entered the front-end engineering and design phase for the large Rosebank field which lies in the deepwater Atlantic Margin West of Shetland. The field, first discovered in 2004, recently received promised support from special tax breaks for remote, deepwater fields announced by the UK government earlier this year, fueling expectations of a decision to develop the find.
