UK explorer Chariot makesfirst move into Mauritania

Cape Town—UK-listed Chariot Oil & Gas hassigned a production sharing contract with thegovernment of Mauritania for a 90% interestin and operatorship of offshore block C19,the company’s first license in the northwestAfrican country.In a statement April 10, Chariot said itwould carry out a 2-D seismic survey over1,600 sq km at the block and once theresults are known it could then move on tothe drilling and exploration phases.
