Karachi-Pakistan State Oil has cut supplies of fuel oil to power utilities by 30% over non- payment of bills as its financial position has become precarious, a spokeswoman for the state-run marketing company said January 11. The power utilities currently owe PSO around Pakistan Rupees 188 billion ($2.08 billion), the spokeswoman said. This includes nearly Rupees 42 billion to be paid by the Water and Power Development Authority, Rupees 87 billion by Hub Power and Rupees 33 billion by Kot Addu Power Company.
