Lukoil aims for European refinery cost cuts

Brussels—Russia’s Lukoil is aiming to reduce costs at its European refineries and improve their integration with the rest of the company, Mikhail Antonov, deputy director at Lukoil’s trading arm Litasco, said. Speaking at a conference in Brussels on September 25, Antonov said the company would look to modernize its two European plants, but for the time being Lukoil was not looking at any additional acquisitions. Lukoil has an 80% stake in the 360,000 b/d ISAB refinery on the Italian island of Sicily and a 45% stake in the 149,500 b/d Zeeland refinery in the Netherlands.
