Houston-Nearly two weeks into a new year, US regulators have not approved any new well permits for the Gulf of Mexico so far, according to data supplied January 14 by offshore agency Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement records. BOEM has issued a total of 10 permits of other types so far this year that include five for revisions needed for drilling previously-permitted new wells.
