Regulator slashes GSPL gas transmission tax

Mumbai—India’s downstream gas regulator, the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board, has slashed the proposed gas transportation tariff for Gujarat State Petronet Ltd.’s gas grid in the western state of Gujarat by 40% and existing tariff by 12.5%. The PNGRB was set up in 2007 with a mandate to oversee and regulate city gas distribution. The regulatory board issues licenses to set up city gas distribution facilities based on transmission tariffs submitted by companies.
