Harsh weather causes revisions in Bakken estimates

London-Harsh late-spring weather in the US' Bakken Shale region of the Williston Basin has caused some small E&P companies to clip their production outlooks for the second quarter and full-year 2011, although operators say they could make up the loss later in the year. Denver-based Kodiak Oil & Gas lined up June 13 as the latest operator to reduce its guidance as a result of what investment bank Global Hunter Securities in a recent report called "the worst winter to hit North Dakota in a hundred years."
