London—India’s state-owned refiner Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited is seeking vessels to take Syrian crude on Aframaxes from Syria to India from the end of December to March next year, shipping sources said December 15. HPCL has been on the Mediterranean spot freight market since December 13 and is hoping to find a ship that will load from either Banias or Tartous, they said. The offer is for five to six cargoes to travel either to Visakhapatnam on the east coast of India or Mumbai on the west coast from the end of December this year to March 2012.
